BLIZZARD!

SNOWED IN!! Today it is suppose to snow 11-18 inches throughout the day. That means non-stop snow for 24 hours. BLIZZARD conditions they are calling it. It is the biggest winter storm for the month of February and in the next 2 days, it is suppose to snow more than what is normal for the entire month. They have cancelled almost 600 flights at the airport, DIA. And there is no way I can get out of my apartment complex right now. There is a huge pile of snow around my car that I know will prohibit me from leaving. Hopefully they get some snow plows out here to remove the snow. It sounds like nobody is going to work today and school was already cancelled last night. So seriously, we are all SNOWED IN!!

Tonight Mike has basketball game vs. Colorado Christian and then again tomorrow night vs. Colorado School of Mines. Saturday night's game should be a good one. After a rough weekend last weekend, Metro lost 2 of their games. That puts them at a 17-3 record and moved to #12 in the nation. Colorado School of Mines has a 18-2 record and are #5 in the nation. So it will be a good match-up and a lot on the line for both teams on Saturday. GAME ON!!

Let's see...what else?? Not too much new with me. Another solid week of work! Today is nice because I am literally just laying on the couch watching tv. I love On Demand!! I can get caught up on all my series!! Top Chef, Once Upon a Time, Tori and Dean, Jersey Shore, American Idol...HOLY COW SO MANY!!

The weekend is now upon us and I want to wish everyone a fantastic and safe weekend!!

Hey Hey!!

It's so nice to spend Sunday morning on my couch, watching tv, drinking coffee, and eating breakfast with absolutely no rush. This is the life!! If only everyday could be like this. Normally I test myself, sleep-in until that last possible second that I can get up, get dressed, and run out the door, maybe pouring a coffee in a to-go cup. Then it's in my car to face the morning traffic on my way to work. So let's just say, this morning feels nice!!

The weekend went well. Nothing too exciting but it still goes by so fast. Friday was a CLEAN-DAY. I got in that mood and cleaned everything in our apartment. Mike was out of town for a road-trip to play Western State and Mesa State. The ended up losing both their games this weekend, so not a great trip for them. Friday night I stayed home and watched TV. I woke up early Saturday morning for work, trained two clients. I worked out both Friday and Saturday! Came home and again spent the night watching tv on the couch. Mike came home around 2:30 from his trip.

So what an exciting life uh?? Today I will go workout, work, and then watch some basketball. Then Mike and I are suppose to go on a date, since we havent really seen to much of one another. Basketball season is CRAZY busy.

I apologize for the boring update, but honestly nothing really happened this weekend. And it was actually the weekend I needed. I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

PEACE

Wedding Planning for the Sister!

So I am so sorry for the poor updating on the blog. I have been pretty busy. Okay nothing crazy, but it's just so weird how fast time goes. All of sudden I am a week behind on my blog. So my apologies.

So what has happened?? Well I have been helping my sister out a lot with her wedding planning. She has asked me to help her with the flowers. I brought this up to my friend Amie and she was quick to come up with some ideas. She also introduced me to a new site... Pinterest. Ever heard of it?? It's pretty cool. I neat site where you can look up party ideas, how to make things...basically IDEAS that you can create yourself. Check it out! http://www.pinterest.com/

Amie found a centerpiece that looked cute, simple and inexpensive. So we created the masterpiece by ourselves and it was very easy. Not to mention it didn't cost very much. First we went to Goodwill and picked up to different shaped vases. Super cheap, $.99 and $1.99 for both. Then I went over to the store and picked up different sizes of lemons. ($.39 per lemon). And then a simple flower, baby's breath for the demo...but basically any flower would work. I think for Courtney we might do a wild flower or a simple white flower. Then with some experimenting, Amie and I came up with this....what do you think??

We figured out it is easier to arrange the lemons if you cut big pieces instead of small. Fill the vase with water first, in order to get the lemons to stay in place. I like the vase to the left the best. We added a little string to that one, which gives it more of a rustic touch.

Anyway, I am super proud of us that we were able to create these. I sent the picture to Courtney, she likes it...so it is a GO!! We will do different shapes of vases and probably use some other colors like limes, grapefruit or oranges. Now I pass this idea on to you, because it is super easy and cheap to make!!

OTHER NEWS!! Mike's team won both their games this weekend, including a "buzzer-beater" shot on Saturday's game. They also beat my alma-mater, Ft. Lewis on Friday. It wasn't a good showing for both teams...the women lost by 27pts to Metro. Metro men now moved up to #3 in the nation and will be on the road this weekend vs. Mesa State and Western State.

I also want to announce that last week I got back on track, and worked out a total of 5 times!! YEP YOU HEARD IT RIGHT!! 5 TIMES!! Hopefully I can keep this up!!

Well I hope everyone has a great week!! Talk to you soon!!

Congrats Courtney & Dan!!

My sister called me today very excited!! She told me Dan took her up to the top of the mountain where they live, he was acting kind of different and nervous and then he ................proposed to her!!!! I can't believe it!! My little sister is going to get married!! I couldn't be more happier for her. And I am so happy she is engaged to a great guy! Dan is great for Courtney and I am so glad they have found each other. They really are perfect for one another! CONGRATS YOU TWO!!

My sister sent me a picture of her ring. Kind of cool story to it. When Courtney and Dan went down the Grand Canyon together, they picked out a stone together. Then Dan took that stone to a neighbor/friend who designed a ring with the stone in it. Courtney loves it!! And I think it is such a cool story!! Here is a picture of the ring Courtney sent me.

So now my little sister is engaged!! And I am one happy big sister!!

Curve Ball

This past week I was thrown a pretty bad curve ball...I GOT SICK. I seem to have contracted some sort of sinus infection. My nose is congested, my head has been throbbing, and my ears make me feel like I am in a tunnel. I can't hear, breath or think. It has seriously knocked me on my butt. Sucks because I was so motivated this week to start working out and getting in shape, instead, I have just been resting and trying to nurse myself back to health. It's no fun being sick.

I shall give you a quick recap on what has happened since my last post...

Friday night Metro State lost to Colorado School of Mines by 9 pts. It was a close game but towards the end of the second half, Mines just played hard and solid and pulled away with the win. It was quite a shock for Metro State, who hasn't loss this year. But the loss is good for them I think, because now they must realize they have to work hard to get those victories! They played again Saturday night, and won the game by 12-13 pts. The coach made a statement and benched 3 of their starters. They didn't play very much in the game either. Basically he wanted them to know that if they don't play hard the entire time, then they don't have to play. This forced some back-ups to play more, and they played hard. They won the game for them and it was nice to see some great effort out on the court. They travel this weekend to Pueblo and then Colorado Springs. Two important games, so it will be nice to see how the team rebounds!

Sunday I went to the Michael Jackson Immortal Tour Cirque Solei. I went with my client Viriginia, since Mike had to coach his younger teams. The show was a lot of fun!! I can't believe some of the talents from the performers. They truly have an amazing gift. I also thought it was a great tribute to Michael Jackson, and the dance moves were phenomenal!

Michael Jackson Immortal Tour

During the concert, the Broncos were playing their first play-off game vs. the Steelers. Nobody thought they would win that game. But they pulled out the victory off a touchdown pass in OT. Now here in Denver, there is huge TEBOW-MANIA everywhere. Everybody is talking about him and everyone is so excited for the Broncos now. I hope they continue this win streak. It's great for the city, and Tebow is kind of growing on me now.

Check out the crowd around a tv at the concert watching the Broncos!

Well there you have it!! I hope everyone has a great week!! Talk soon!

PEACE, LOVE & HAPPINESS
